RUNNING REPAIRS

It was someone else’s bike, a long way from home. Travelling out of Mexico to the US of A, we crossed the border into Texas from the notorious Nuevo Laredo border town, where it’s not unusual for gangs to hang their rival’s corpse off the freeway overpass. It’s a culture shock that made us very happy to cross into the land of the free after six months south of the border.

We met up with the group, a mix of Aussies who had flown over and hired bikes to join us for a ride and some of my American mates
