As covered in last issue of, 1972 saw the Supercar Scare and the stillbirth of the eagerly anticipated V8 XU-1. This ultimately led to the birth of a legend with Peter Brock claiming his first Bathurst victory at the wheel of the giant-killing six-cylinder XU-1 Torana.
