“Over two short weeks, I changed how I looked at the animals and their backgrounds – trying to see the entire picture. Towards the end of our trip, we decided to wait for a wildebeest river crossing. After sitting in one spot for a few hours, with the perfect vantage point, something spooked the herd and they changed direction, moving to a different place at which to cross. Our guide Charles rushed us to the new location, manoeuvering through the other expectant vehicles until we had the perfect view once more. It was nerve-wracking watching the wildebeest cross, fighting for their lives as they tried to avoid the waiting crocodiles. It was complete chaos.
