Over the course of my career in golf I’ve had the honour of playing for the International team in three Presidents Cups.
All were hugely enjoyable, even if I ended up on the losing side each time. I still look back with great fondness on my debut at Royal Montreal in Canada, back in 2007. Our captain that year was Gary Player. A week with him – every morning and evening in the team bus – was unforgettable. The man is a walking vitamin shot, possessed of amazing energy and positivity. Every one of us left every one of his team talks feeling like Muhammad Ali. All we wanted to do was take on the world.
