Underground driverless trains: Part 2

THROUGHOUT the period when several refunding agreements for London Underground (LU) were negotiated, very public comments were made on social media regarding the performance of TfL and LU by Government ministers and Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London. Even before TfL announced that on August 30 acceptance of the latest refinancing offer made by the Department for Transport (DfT), public comments have been made about driverless trains.

Matrix-like, there are two realities.

THE BLUE PILL

The notion of full railway automation, removing the need for drivers, has been in the public consciousness since the 1970s.
