Test: Moog Mavis
You can assemble Mavis yourself, but soldering is not necessary. As a reward, you get a semi-modular synthesizer with an oscillator, classic ladder filter and 24 patch jacks for internal rewiring or linking to other hardware, which is done via small pin pots. We have tested whether this equipment justifies the price, which is not necessarily cheap.
Eurorack ready
If you pay the premium for Moog synthesizers mainly because of the feel, you won‘t be happy with Mavis. Neither the simple plastic case nor the pen pots on the 22x13 cm top of the synthesizer radiate special value; no comparison to Mother-32, DFAM, Minitaur or even the larger Moog keyboards.
