NYONE going to see Richard Dawson in concert will probably expect a certain degree of quiet reverence. He tends to play sit-down venues and his accompaniment is usually acoustic and spartan, leaving plenty of sonic space to enhance his wonderfully bathetic, absurdist poetry – lyrics about dead dogs in alleyways, about peasants in fifth-century
