FRUUPP
Belfast proggers, lovingly packaged, on their final tour.
f anything highlights what fan power can do these days, take a is a bootleg recording of the quintet from Friars in Aylesbury from December 1975 when Fruupp were touring their fourth and final studio album, . The sound quality isn’t great, although this fact is not shied away from in the liner notes. However what the recording lacks in sonic excellence is more than made up with the band’s eloquently majestic performance, and the utterly gorgeous packaging; a lush gatefold sleeve and discs in orange and lime green vinyl. It succeeds because it both offers a glimpse of Northern Irish prog history and leaves the listener wanting to discover even more. A book is apparently now being funded, something eagerly awaits.
