In last month’s Labs (see issue 336, p74), Intel overturned the dominance of AMD processors in workstations with a host of machines based on 12th generation Core chips. Part of the reason for this was the absence of AMD’s previously dominant Threadripper. Fortunately, it wasn’t deceased, only sleeping, and now we have our first chance to look at the new flagship of the Pro version. The Scan 3XS GWP-ME A1128T sports the 64-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX, and it’s a monster.
