Studebaker began building horse-drawn wagons in 1852, and by 1879, it was the largest wagon manufacturer in the world. Studebaker wagons included coal wagons, farm wagons, garbage wagons, grocery wagons, ice wagons, log wagons, milk wagons and more.
From 1902 to 1913, Studebaker made electric commercial vehicles. These electric trucks were limited to big cities that had electricity, so sales were slight as most of the country had not yet been electrified.
