He was born to be King and, as such, Prince George shared a special bond with his great-grandmother. To the young Prince, Her Majesty was the ultimate role model who provided a gentle guiding hand when needed but, most of all, she was his beloved “Gan-Gan”.
The Queen doted on young George, as was evident on occasions such as the christening of his younger sister Princess Charlotte in 2015, when Her Majesty was seen bending down to speak to the toddler Prince.
The Duchess of Cambridge once said of the Queen: “She always leaves a little gift or something in their room when we go and stay, and that just shows her love for the family.”
The Cambridge children’s closeness to their great-grandmother was thought to be one of the main reasons for the family’s move to Berkshire – and the youngsters’ start at Lambrook School – in summer 2022.

HAPPY CHILDHOOD
While George has met Presidents and Prime Ministers and been overseas on royal tours, the football-mad youngster has also been encouraged by his parents to have as normal a childhood as possible.
