BRM: Tell us about the history of the club…

John: The Alsager Railway Association (ARA) was founded in 1979. The town of Alsager is located between Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe and draws its membership mainly from north Staffordshire and southern Cheshire.

In 2019, to celebrate the ARA’s 40th anniversary, Mike Sant (current Vice Chairman) posted a history of the club, which includes photographs from those early days, including the origins of the present premises – an RAF hut dismantled and transported from its location in Wolverhampton to Alsager in 1984.
