Changing times, changing titles

THE COUNTRY LIFE editorial board has never been hasty when it comes to change. We nod to fashion, but we do not slavishly follow it. Rather, our approach is to watch and wait and see whether what appears to be a trend is permanent or temporary. We have never had much of an appetite for what is now generally referred to as political correctness or, more recently, wokeness. These concepts are, to our mind, redundant because, if one is always polite, always well mannered and, crucially, never disrespectful, no offence can ever be caused.
