That is, until the debut of the Richard Mille RM UP‑01 Ferrari, which not only breaks away from the Swiss luxury watch brand’s established stylistic codes, but also sets a new record for the world’s thinnest watch.

Unveiled this July at Ferrari’s headquarters in, the RM UP‑01 is the first timepiece the watchmaker has created with the luxury sports car manufacturer since their multi‑year partnership was announced back in 2021. As to be expected from two brands striving for innovation and excellence in their respective quests for perfection, the RM UP‑01 is nothing short of revolutionary—not least because its case, measuring 1.75 mm thick, sets a new standard in the highly contended ultra‑thin watch category, breaking the previous record of 1.80 mm mere months after it was set.
