THE OPENING SECTION of this magnum opus that kicks off Rush’s breakthrough 1976 concept album, 2112, showcases the great Canadian prog-rock power trio of guitarist Alex Lifeson, bassist-vocalist Geddy Lee and drummer-lyricist Neil Peart soaring to a new creative height, with a brilliantly conceived and arranged classical-like ensemble fanfare that ushers in an epic suite of thematically related songs, our transcription comprising the first two.
