I have just returned from a very enjoyable 1500-mile motorhome holiday to France with my family. To be honest, I’m wishing I was still there. It was our first foreign holiday since before Covid, so it made us really appreciate how much we’d missed touring on the continent. We’d forgotten how good the cheese, croissants and wine are in France, but definitely did our best to catch up on what we missed for the last 2+ years!
We went to the Atlantic coast in south-west France in search of some waves for surfing. The beaches were fantastic and seemed to go on for miles and miles compared to what we’re more used to in Cornwall in the UK.
I think France is probably one of the best countries in Europe for good campsites. I’ve stayed at lots with generous sized pitches, often enclosed with hedging for privacy, and with fresh bread and croissants nearly always available. There are good campsites in other countries, but generally, they’re a bit more cramped.
