SHINOBI III Return of the Ninja Master

If you were in the market for a Mega Drive during the early days of the console’s life, chances are that one of the games that convinced you to take a look was The Revenge Of Shinobi. The slick sequel to the hit arcade game evolved the action with new stages, moves and magic, and the soundtrack by Yuzo Koshiro is still revered to this day. Critics loved it, it was a sales hit and it became such a common inclusion on the Mega Games compilation cartridges that we’d be surprised if any Mega Drive owner had managed to miss it. There was no question that Sega would put another sequel into production.
