ITH AN EARLY interest in the decorative arts, Bill Gardner has been collecting his entire life—from valuable antique furniture to colorful vintage Mexican pottery. The longtime Houston antiques dealer and proprietor of W. Gardner, Ltd., even recalls the first antique he ever purchased. “I must have been 12 or 13,” he says, “and I remember going into a shop and buying an English blue and white teacup and saucer for $3.00.
