NZ Hot Rod

Jakes and the Lakes

WAS eight years old in 1988 and remember reading the December 1988 issue of Rod & Custom magazine, which featured Pete & Jakes new cars, the Limefire 1932 Ford roadster and Jake’s Model A Tub. Although both are different style cars, they both were a strong inspiration to the type of hot rod I enjoyed. From that moment, I continued reading everything about these guys and their cars. I collected every book on Pete & Jake and every past issue of Rod & Custom Magazine. This traditional outlook on hot rodding was fun; I couldn’t and still cannot get enough of it.
