CALIFORNIA IS HOME to nine national parks—more than any other state—and Joshua Tree National Park is located less than three hours from both Los Angeles and San Diego. This park is a popular destination on Southern California adventures and receives 3 million visitors a year. And for good reason—there is magic in the park that brings a sense of wonder. It feels like a giant playground, with unique plants to admire, mining ruins to check out, and tons of boulders to play on. We weren’t as excited to visit this park as some others, but we ended up having a blast, and felt like kids as we explored!
