RENAULT G13 TURNTABLE LADDER TILT TEST

The tilt test is, of course, an important aspect of any vehicle design and we came upon these great images of G39 DSF, a Lothian Fire Brigade Renault/Dodge Turntable Ladder, fitted with a crew cab, working in Edinburgh sometime around 2002.

Carmichael had fitted it out using the German ladder from the Magirus company. The crew cab version looked to be unique; there were quite a few ordinary single cab versions built on this chassis, but a crew cab wasn’t the norm. Avon, Greater Manchester and Derbyshire brigades appeared to have used the same chassis/ladder set-up.
