Do we actually need WoFs for older classics?

I’ve previously written about WoFs on a variety of issues ranging from consistency of inspections to the seeming lack of knowledge of the requirements by the various testers. In addition, following the United Kingdom’s move to scrap their vehicle inspections (known as MoTs) for vehicles built or first registered more than 40 years ago, there was a suggestion the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) should follow suit.
