SET TO SHINE

Carlota Bulgari is at home in Pimlico working on her next project. She was born with a famous family name, but her parents Paolo – chairman of Bulgari and grandson of the founder of the jewellery house, Sotirios Bulgari – and Maite Bulgari Carpio – a writer, producer and director – are wisely allowing her to simply find her own path.

Her father, she says, “understands the weight of coming from a family with a name like this”, and she appreciates he didn’t have the opportunity for this kind of freedom. “So, he always respected what I wanted to do and supported me. Both my parents are artists in their own fields, and I want to become an artist in my own right. That’s my intention – to explore art from a wider perspective than only a jewellery perspective. And then perhaps come back to it
