The future is, indeed, orange

PINK flowers? Nothing wrong with them—soft, gentle, inoffensive. White flowers? Vita had a garden devoted to them at Sissinghurst —elegant. Blue flowers? Heavenly. But orange flowers? Oh! Who, with taste, would ever have an orange flower in their garden? Sad isn’t it? The warmest, most effervescent colour on the spectrum sends most gardeners scuttling off in apoplexy. Yet I sense the merest hint that the future might, indeed, be orange.
