THIS MONTH, WE COVER a historic pillar of personal computing. Alongside the Apple II and Tandy TRS-80, the Commodore PET is one of three major computers (aka The Holy Trinity) that are credited with starting the home computing revolution, and its architecture would later underpin Commodore’s most popular machines.

As you might expect, the PET is full of quirks and can present some technical headaches to a modern user, so after taking you on a brief history tour that goes all the way back to the mid-1970s, allow us to guide you through emulating the Commodore PET. –JOHN KNIGHT
