Glad that Windows is ditching ‘absurd’ updates
I’m glad Microsoft has ditched the absurdity of updating Windows 10 indefinitely with Feature updates. I liked the idea of gradual updates when Microsoft introduced it in 2015, but it didn’t take long for the twice-yearly updates to become a real pain. Every one seemed to mess up my settings, or knock a driver off my system. I did everything I could to delay them.
I know that upgrading to a brand new system every three years is a bigger leap than coping with Feature updates, but at least you know it’s going to be a clean start, and you can always choose to stick with what you’ve got. I’d rather have that option than facing the dread of disruptive updates every six months.

Derek makes a good point. Many of the Feature updates released for Windows 10 caused problems, the worst being version 1809 (released October 2018), which Microsoft quickly suspended after it started to delete users’ files.
