In the film Good Luck to You, Leo Grande, Emma Thompson plays Nancy, a widow and retired religious-education teacher who hires sex worker Leo. “I want to play at being young again,” she tells him. In a series of hotel rendezvous, Nancy asks that they work through a list of things she never tried with her husband.

But the twenty-something Leo isn’t just a gigolo – he’s empathetic, warm, friendly and very good at this job, but with his own professional boundaries. As their encounters progress, their commercial relationship becomes something more personal. Until, that is, their outside lives intrude.
