n 1963, the first official “beach” movie, was released and became a box-office smash, starring the most and the succeeding (1964) and (1965). The films also helped generate a huge spike in the mid-’60s in the sale of surfboards. Prior to her movie break-out, Annette was the “Bicycle Queen of 1953.” A movie poster recently sold for $120 at auction.
