SAY A LITTLE PRAYER

Herringbone calatheas are known for their striking leaves that lie down during the day and rise up at night – the reason they’re also called prayer plants. While our version can’t quite replicate this gentle movement, it does copy the herringbone plant’s vibrant colours using wool felt. And unlike the real thing, this needs no watering – ideal for those lacking any green fingers.

A DEEPER SHADE OF BLUE

Harness the magic of chemistry with cyanotype printing to beautifully reproduce the delicate structure of plants. Developed in the 1840s as a cheap way of replicating documents and plans (hence the term ‘blueprint’), the rich blues are made by iron compounds oxidising on exposure to UV light and water. It’s an easy way to make a print from anything that casts a shadow, lending itself to endless experimentation.
