EXPECTATIONS EXCEEDED

It truly was a family affair—you might even call it a Ruple family reunion—when the BLADE Magazine Cutlery Hall Of Fame® formally inducted Bill Ruple and Aldo and Edda Lorenzi during BLADE Show 2022.

A master maker of slip joints who has won just about every slip-joint award there is, Ruple brought what seemed to be not only his entire family but almost all the members of the organization of knifemakers he is largely credited with creating: the South Texas Slipjoint Cartel. And while the Lorenzis were unable to attend from their home in Milan, Italy, they were amply represented in spirit as their impact on the international knife industry was celebrated by all in attendance.
