JOSH KELLY notched his second victory in a row when he outpointed Argentina’s Lucas Bastida over 10 largely forgettable rounds inside Newcastle’s Vertu Motors Arena.

It would be easy to criticise Kelly for the lack of fireworks, but he can be happy he got rounds in the bank and never once looked in trouble. Perhaps too content to counter-punch, Kelly nonetheless exhibited maturity and a calm head against an ambitious foe.
