COLIN’S FAMILY A JOY

Winning letter

I did enjoy Colin Hogg’s story and seeing the photographs with his family (NZWW, June 6). When Colin started writing his column 40 years ago, I was a young mum with school-aged children and could resonate so much with his humorous anecdotes with his daughter. I, too, enjoyed writing, and after the Pixie Pages, Teenage Pages and Letters, I began sharing my children’s quirks in Over the Teacups.

I became a solo mum, then remarried and changed my pens page, “Did I really say that?” and requested the page “for me to keep”! I hope Colin continues his weekly column until he is in his 80s (like me), and his children scrapbook each page for the next generation and the next. His writing is history in the making.
