Wines for the summer

THERE’S NO strict protocol on which wines to drink when, albeit in summer we do tend to levitate towards lighter wines, and in general that means still whites, sparkling wines and pink rosés.

Right from the start, I should add a caveat. Some white wines and indeed several roses carry quite a bit of alcohol, often in the 13.5 per cent or even 14 per cent range. Appearances can therefore be very deceptive, so buyer beware.
