DO YOU COME FROM A SEAFARING BACKGROUND?

Not directly. My father was a Royal Marine, and my grandfather retired as an Admiral in the Royal Navy, but I did not have much experience of the sea when I was growing up.

I have served on board the Type 22 frigates HMS Campbeltown and HMS Chatham, various Sandown and Hunt class minehunters, HMS Argyll and an amphibious Landing Ship (Tank), as well as RSS Resolution when on an exchange course
