Annie Powers to the crown

WITH presence, power and exuding pony quality, Glynwyn Annie Power, a six-year-old chestnut Welsh section C barren mare, had the heart to go all day. Her four lengthy white socks were shown off to full effect as she powered her way through the championships, collecting the overall Welsh section C title before being crowned supreme of show, clinching a Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) Price Family in-hand ticket en route.
“She’s an out-and-out Welsh section C; she fitted the breed description correctly,” observed Price Family and overall in-hand championship judge Jerome Harforth. “She had charm and character and was a straight, active mover with lots of presence.”
Overall supreme judge Cynthia Higgon added: “She showed herself particularly well and moved exceptionally.”

Shown by Scott Gibbons from West Yorkshire and bred by his wife Kellie Gibbons, Annie is the seventh generation from their foundation mare, Paddock Dawn. The Glynwyn prefix was started by Kellie’s mother, Gwen Heppenstall.
