Never be TIRED AGAIN!

We’re supposed to have enough sleep nightly so we can meet our daily joys and challenges. But more than one-third of New Zealanders report not getting enough sleep or that the quality of their bed rest is compromised.

Psychologist Dr Moira Junge of the Sleep Health Foundation says while most people experience sleeplessness at some point, insomnia is far more common among women than men and chances of being affected increase after menopause.

Sleep expert Dr Carmel Harrington says insomnia disrupts your natural sleep cycles by causing you to wake up. “These cycles play a major role in whether you wake up feeling refreshed or fatigued,” she explains.
