Keeping our eyes on the score increases accuracy and rhythmic fluency, but we Notice where on the page you tend to look when reading – aim, as a general rule, to move upwards vertically from the bass notes. Practise the left hand separately, while keeping your eyes on the page, as much of what steers the music forward will often be found in the left hand’s notes.
