Just over a year ago, kiwi downhill legend Cam Cole's life was turned upside-down when his wife Amy landed a dream job on the other side of the planet.

Cole, former UCI World Cup Downhill racer, multi-time downhill national champion, and 2006 Junior Downhill World Champion, had spent the past two years establishing a lower North Island franchise of Byron Scott's trail building company Trailpro.

It'd been hard graft, but with the business building up a head of steam, and demand for quality trails growing dramatically, things were looking promising.
