Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, Yemchuk emigrated to the United States with her parents when she was 11 years old. Receiving a 35mm Minolta camera from her father for her 14th birthday, Yemchuk went on to study at both Parsons in New York and ArtCenter in Pasadena.
With a style described as surrealistic whimsy and dark romanticism, Yemchuk has exhibited both photographs and paintings in museums and galleries around the world, and her work has been published in ID, Dazed & Confused, Another Magazine and The New Yorker, as well as British, Italian and Japanese Vogue.
Staging her first museum exhibition in 2019 with her project ‘Mabel, Betty & Bette’ at the Dallas Contemporary
