An undisputed leader in its home country, Spanish superyacht builder Astondoa has made a strong showing internationally by debuting new models at the big boat shows in recent years. The yard is known for its larger yachts, such as the 30.5-metre 100 Century, introduced for Astondoa’s centenary in 2016.

The family-owned company, based in Santa Pola near Alicante, has produced more than 3,000 boats in its history, including 100 models over 24 metres. But it has also built an impressive fleet of smaller boats; one of its smallest to date is a sporty, 12 metre, the Astondoa 377 Coupe.

The latest addition to its fleet, the As 5 is a 17.4-metre flybridge series which demonstrates the company’s desire to become a reference below 20 metres. It’s a competitive
