READERS RIDES

Welcome to a special edition of Readers Rides. Each of the trucks featured in this issue’s Readers Rides were built by 7th and 8th grade students from the New Hampton Community School District in New Hampton, Iowa. Their teacher, Josh Monteith, used Axial SCX10 III crawlers along with Spektrum transmitters and electronics as a teaching tool to create a personalized and rigorous learning experience based on critical thinking, complex communication, collaboration, flexibility, adaptability, creativity, productivity and accountability. Let’s check out the work of these talented students and read about their RC building experiences in their own words. Read more about this educational program in the article “School of Rock” later on in this issue.
