SAUVIGNON BLANC

92 Astrolabe 2021 Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough). Heady notes of lemon and lime zest, passionfruit, snow pea and tomato stem lead on this crunchy and highly refreshing wine from a consistently delicious label in an excellent vintage. It slips and slides over the tongue, leading to a long, limey finish that makes it easy to take another sip. Share a Splash. —C.P.

91 Yealands 2021 Estate Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc (Awatere Valley). For full review see page 125. Palm Bay International.

abv: 13% Price: $24

Passionfruit, grapefruit and lime popsicle notes lead on this vibrant wine, followed by gentler aromas of tomato leaf and bell pepper. The palate is dry with a slightly chalky texture and similarly lively fruit. A crunchy, refreshing drop that steers clear of under-ripeness, and that embodies much of the best. —C.P.
