Where railways are concerned, I’m a fan of the off-beat. True, I started by standing beside main lines taking locomotive numbers, but once I discovered the derelict Fairford and the wonderful dilapidated but still in use Culkerton, I was hooked. There was something enchanting about a railway in decline, neglected, decaying, but still soldiering on, like Buggleskelly in the great Oh, Mr. I’ll put a couple of pictures on ‘Call Attention’ to illustrate what I mean. They won’t captivate everyone, I’m sure, but some will understand what I’m getting at and, maybe, share my view.
