Hibiscus syriacus ‘Oiseau Bleu’

hen hibiscus were first is hardy across most of the UK, tolerating winter temperatures down to -10 or-15°C. ‘Oiseau Bleu’, which you’ll often find for sale as ‘Blue Bird’, is a shrub smothered in large, mauve-blue flowers with a deep maroon centre in August and September: a spectacular sight. Easily pruned to size and tolerant of a range of soils, it delivers its exotic good looks with ease and grace.
