A world of botany

Edith, can you tell us a bit about what you create.

Hello! I’m an Australian-based illustrator and textile designer. I split my time between client commissions (in publishing, stationery, fashion and design), exhibition work and my own label, Edith Rewa.

For my label, I create hand-illustrated silk scarves, which showcase native Australian plants. I like to think of them as wearable silk plant companions to be worn when you need to feel connected to the natural world.

My work is grounded in protecting the diversity of Australia’s natural environments. I’m always looking for new ways to entwine the worlds of traditional botany with the contemporary art and design space, while exhibiting native plantscapes that are underrepresented or unknown.
