If you’re the navigator there’s only one answer that should come more quickly than your own name and that’s the time of high tide. Knowing whether it’s springs or neaps should roll off the tongue next. And yet I’m frequently surprised at how the immediate response from some racing navigators when asked the time of high water is to look down at their tablet.
