A HOME-BRED broodmare who had a successful career under saddle headed a strong line-up of contenders to land the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) Price Family supreme in-hand ticket.
Leading Royal Stage to the top in-hand accolade was Jeff Grace. Queenie, as she’s called at home, pulled off all the moves to be crowned judge Cindy Sims’ overall champion for breeder-owner Virginia Russell-Wood.
The 10-year-old mare, who was based with Team Holder during her ridden career, is by Kilvington Scoundrel out of Virginia’s Cuddywinning mare Stage Whisper. She was shown with her first foal,
