Nasa launches Capstone
American space agency Nasa recently sent a small spacecraft called Capstone into space. Capstone stands for Cislunar Autonomous Positioning System Technology Operations and Navigation Experiment – what a mouthful! We take a look at what this mission is all about.
WHAT IS CAPSTONE?
Capstone is a nanosatellite or tiny satellite. It’s about the size of a microwave oven and weighs the same as a suitcase. Capstone is an important part of Nasa's Artemis mission to send people to the moon.
The small satellite will be launched into a certain orbit around the moon to test orbital stability. Scientists also want to see if it would work for a small space station Nasa wants to keep in that orbit. The space station will be called
