TURNING BACK TIME

Seeing your dream cottage stripped back to its stone, ceilings removed to reveal the underside of its centuries-old thatch, would be enough to send most owners into a panic, but for Beverley Brown it was a chance to get to know her new home better. ‘The bones of the building were so beautiful. Looking at the underside of the thatch – and all the original timbers – it was clear to see the care that had gone into its construction,’ she says.
