Though heatwaves may feel like they’re occurring much more often these days, in the UK they’re still uncommon enough that we don’t really make adaptations to our homes for unusually hot weather. And that’s exactly why it hits us so hard whenever the mercury rises to anything over 22 degrees. Unlike regularly warm climates, we’re unprepared when it gets very hot.
